Diameter基础协议是建立在高性能的模块化，基于事件和异步应用的程序开发框架AMPS（异步协议服务器中间件）之上的。

- 实现了对等端状态机
- TCP传输，SCTP协议会尽快添加。

- 支持failover/failback
- 由于异步的开发(AMPS),有高性能和高可扩展性

缺点：
- 官方网站上提供的是老版本的帮助文档，新版本和老版本相比，接口基本全部变了，使用该库必须熟悉去阅读改库的源代码。
